Central Plant Upgrade

Effective central plant and infrastructure system design and engineering achieves a solution that reliably serves a facility while effectively addressing the need for access, ongoing maintenance and the inevitable upgrade or equipment change out. Over the years systematic upgrades have been made to the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center Central Plant (LBMMC). Projects such as a new primary and secondary pumping system as well as new chillers were designed and engineered to be replaced or upgraded with minimal disruption to the facility and the 24/7 operations. In addition, the team also upgraded the emergency generator system which involved eight new generators with paralleling switch gear, load shedding capabilities and two utility ties to provide the hospital with grid options. The LBMMC Central Plant project exemplifies how with a knowledgeable and consistent team, design and execution can seamlessly integrate the final configuration.
