UCI Health had been working with the c|a architects team to expand their community outreach throughout Southern California. While these locations raised the bar for the integrated health clinic experience, the Fashion Island location needed to take the design to the next level; a luxury level. UCI was confident in c|a architects’ ability to deliver a highly detailed design concept within a technically complex existing building under a condensed project schedule and unprecedented conditions. The interior design, created by Pickett Design Associates, involved unique material applications, intricate architectural details and comprehensive art installations. The c|a team meticulously translated the design within the challenging existing building. The collaboration between the team members was critical to transitioning the non-rated, non-sprinkled building to a code compliant medical space—and more importantly, a modern wellness oasis
